Extra-curricular activities
Extracurricular Activities Throughout My High School Journey.
Girls Who Code, President 2023-2025
As a President of Girls Who Code, I work to encourage and support girls at our school to explore computer science. We create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their ideas. We start by teaching the basics of coding and then move on to using Python to build projects that apply these concepts to real-world scenarios. For example, we’ve helped students create projects like text-based adventures, Madlibs, a store order calculator, and a Wheel of Fortune game.
Artificial Intelligence Club, Vice President 2023-2025
In high school, I was a member of the AI Club, where we explored key concepts of artificial intelligence and machine learning through hands-on projects. We built AI applications like chatbots and image recognition systems, while also learning about the ethical issues surrounding AI. The club hosted workshops and invited guest speakers to deepen our understanding of the technology.
Kumon Volunteer & Part-Time Employee 2022-2024
I volunteered at Kumon to assist children with Math and English, primarily helping upperclassmen understand various math concepts. After six months of volunteering, I transitioned into a part-time role at Kumon, working Mondays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
National Honor Society, 2023-2025
As a member of the National Honor Society, I volunteered as a tutor, assisting middle and high school students with their homework. Additionally, I volunteered at a local gardening community, helping maintain and grow vegetables. In total, I have completed over 200 hours of volunteering.
